Engine bay dress up/accessories

I am wanting to get creative in the engine bay. Of course there is the comon ground wires, pained covers, and strut bar replacement. But what are some other things that can be done to make the engine bay a show stopper?

Chrome, lots of chrome. I'm sure you've been to a lot of shows, and I have been to a few myself. The one thing that always gets my attention is how clean chrome can make an engine bay look. Colors are cool, too. Don't do any stickers, though. That's tacky.

What are you working on? Strictly show or show and go?
Stainless nutz & boltz for everyone!....allen head stuff...pretty blue radiator hoses...doesn't someone even make a colored belt?...

Catchcan, oil seperator, aluminum radiator (polish it!)

billet pulleys....polished intake plenum....

I want a (L.E.D.?) nightlight underhood, like the old skool zx's.....
what about stainless steel radiator lines..

Doug would like to replace all the hoses and lines w/ braided stainless. THere is a guy around here that will do it for us for cheap, just haven't actively pursued this. Here are some links for you for the bolts and chromed or aluminum caps for other fluids....

Cathy on Zchickz replaced all her clamps w/ chromed ones too. And how bout this, Pat has mirrors that he velcros to the inside of the hood (had them cut to fit in each little space) and it looks AWESOME...

SPL Parts chromed caps The pic on there doesn't do them justice tho, check out the pics Tere posted of hers

Pat's ride, looks sweet w/ the mirrors HUH?

I really like the look of braided stainless steel hoses in the engine bay. I've got a few OEM hoses/lines remaining in there and hope to get them changed out soon.

Before pic...
After..
I'm still undecided about either getting getting the engine and brake and battery covers painted or going with the carbon fiber look on those. Braided hoses would be nice, something to think about.

For now I've added some polished touches with the stock covers and hoses and I like how it looks.

BTW, something that's pretty inexpensive that I did was buy chrome bolt covers from Pep Boys which snap right onto the existing bolts. You can see them in this picture.

I am sorry, no offense to anyone, but I think that carbon fiber look is fugly. Nissan had some really great car colors for the intro of the z, but they were a little sparse with them on the interior, so I say: if you can bring some of the color inside the car, by painting panels, etc.. gopher it. I painted part of my tower, where it says Z on it, except that stayed chrome. Also my fiberglass speaker box (Nazar's) is painted car color.

And in engine bay, all plastics, even windshield wiper bases, and underneath windshield wiper(against windshield) all is car color.

I think it looks sweet. cuz the rest of my motor is completely steel braided. every wire, hose, and pipe.... with chrom/alum accents as well on the motor.

I am getting the bolt kit chromed for one of my last purchases.
toykilla and i just recieved the bolt kit and hopefully he will install it soon
ive got stainless radiator hoses, plus braided hoses in engine bay. Looks sharp. EVERY hose/line/pipe and wire is done in my engine. Pix suck, but email or pm me for clear photos....

Stainless steel Radiator hoses 144.00 shipped. (i have 6 kits)
Braided lines lits (4 different size of hose. Will do entire engine) a steal at 99.00 + shipping. (I have 11 kits left)

I did not have enough clamps in the braided kit to complete nearly all of the lines, hoses, etc., but I used the fancy clamps on the most visible, then used zipties and/or reg clamps for rest.
wish that nissan (or someone) would put out this one
steve, which part are you referring to ?the engine cover? the plenum? the piping?

all 3 are coming ;)
sweet. saw the pipe already in the other thread
ok, this may seem a bit far fetched or a bit to excessive, but the areas where the battery and Brake covers are, the flat pieces under them. since some have made or are making the covers in CF, why not the pieces they sit on. go for a complete CF look under the hood. i was looking at them a bit closer and they do not seem too hard to remove or get replaced. might have to reattach some of the rubber insulation to the bottom parts of the pieces to keep from rattling and/or dirty but i think it would look awesome
bingo.
