Check out my Z-logo CF custom centercaps. I thought the original OEM centercaps were so darned plain-looking.

NICE! I've got the LMGT4s on my Z as well. Are those Z center caps created with some type of glue-on? Where did you acquire those caps? :shiftdrive:
looking good Mike.

i agree.
It looks like he's using a CF (like) vinyl overlay to cover the LMGT4 center caps. The "Z" that he applied on top of each overlay looks like the Fairlady emblem that adheres to the rear of the 350Z. This could be a rather expensive method to apply a "Z" to all four NISMO wheels (at approximately $25.00+ each). However, it does look quite unique.

The "Z" emblem can be purchased at: www.courtesyparts.com

How-to on my custom centercaps:

1. The existing Nismo centercaps are "domed", so the face was machined on a lathe to achieve a perfectly flat surface.

2. The REAL diagonal weave carbon fiber is purchased in 3mm thick sheets. The circle is cut out from the sheet and laminated to a layer of 3M VHB (very high bond) high temperature, double-back adhesive foam.

3. The exposed surface of the CF disk is treated to several coats of clear satin urethane with UV absorbers. This seals any exposed fiber edges in the CF material as well as provide some protection against deterioration from sunlight exposure.

4.. As surmised on this thread, the "Z"s are taken from the Nissan OEM rear deck logos - note that the "350Z" and "FAIRLADY Z" pieces from Nissan use exactly the same size and style "Z"!

5. Assemble the sandwich together!
