There was a sprint day at Wakefield last Monday (ie. 25/04/2005) and there were two 350Zs. One was Mike Fitzerald's (ie. the one he races at APCC) ... that one managed a time of 1:09.429. That's a very quick time, but I'm guessing well of the pace of where Mike would like to be ... I'm guessing he needs to be at least 5sec quicker.

The other one was a privately owned car, and I'm wondering if it's anyone from here? Here's a pic of the car:

That one managed 1:16.520 which is a respectable time. It looks like he was on the OME tyres ... I increased the contrast of that pic and the tyre seems to have the RE040 pattern.

Also there was an S2000 and that managed 1:14.306 ... from what I'm hearing that was on road tyres as well, but I have not had that confirned yet.

ps.
Here are more pics for anyone interested:

I might speak to the gents at IS Motor Racing, and find out where the driver got his front Z badge from.

Circuit Club rents the track out for their own day, but with professional timing gear. There's no "racing" as such, but still good if you're interested in times. If I still had my semis on and my new pads, I would have gone out.

The NSCC and some others are heading out to Wakefield on Monday, for those that are interested.

Correction - the silver 350Z managed 1:16.52, not 1:15.52 ... it was just my typo. I edited the original post.

That's how most sprint-days go. There's no actual racing as such, but some of them do 'super sprints' where you get paired up at the start. Still, most people will treat it like 'sprint sessions' even though some people (who usualy know each other) do some ameteur racing.

Anyone from here going? I would love to go to Wakefield one day as it looks like a great track, but I can't see myself driving all the way from Melbourne.

I was going to go, but I didn't get a chance to install m DS2500s.

Lucky too; my suspension guy called up saying my swaybars have just arrived. They're going in today, and I'll be testing them tonight. :)

I might try and make the Eastern Creek L2S day mid month, however.

And David, find some time to come up to Sydney for a week. We can go for a cruise on Sydney roads, and do Wakefield on a day.

And a 1:16 is a great time for a first timer (which is what I've been told he is). I could barely manage to crack 18's.

There was APCC championship round at Wakefield last weekend and Mike Fitzgerald was there with his 350Z. He did improve on the times mentioned in the 1st post of this thread with 1:08.36, but that was still 3 to 4sec of the pace. Hopefully he'll find some speed over the next few rounds as it would be good to see him competitive like the Pilkingtons were.

Here are the results/times from the 1st race:
