I was wondering if it could be done. I mean from looking at the parts @ http://www.courtesyparts.com/350z-p...s-case-clutch-release/-c-714_715_778_792.html, and it looks like all you would need is the newer slave cylinder, and a way to route the oil line to it. Any input?

My bad. Install the 2008 internal slave cylinder on an older external model.

Why would you want to do that???? I wold think that having the slave outside the tranny, like in my '03 would be much more desirable - if/when it fails, you don't have to open up the tranny.
But I have no idea whether it is even possible.
