Smooth I really would NOT put them in the washer! I have done two things...one is to spot clean them w/ upholstery cleaner. I was afraid at first that the black would bleed into the white Z but it did not. I also used my steam cleaner for our rugs in the house on them. They cleaned up really nicely. I think they are too stiff to put in the washer, and it might end up washing the carpet right off the backing. Just my thoughts.
Thanks! I think shout might work if you hose them off. Don't know if you would have to wash it off or not (since you apply to your stained clothing and then wash it). I don't think I'd leave it on for long though.

any one use car covers? my dad mentioned that i should invest in a good one but i dont know much about them, i know i had a bra on my old saturn and that ate up the paint and im not sure if a cover would do the same.
I've seen this asked multiple times, on meguiars forums, autogeek, etc. And there are even extra charges at detailing shops for something easy as cleaning wheel wells. Some of you may give a single **** about wheel wells, but it actually makes **** of a difference when look at it from the side...
