There is a rare opportunity to run the 2.8 mile road course at California Speedway in Fontana, CA on Friday, June 25, 2004. It is a very fast track that uses part of the 2-mile oval. The event is organized by SpeedVentures.com, and you can go to their website to sign-up. I just signed-up myself.

This event is more expensive than most. It is $280 for the all-day event. If you want a driving instructor (a good idea the first time you go to any new track), that is another $30. Optional rental of timing equipment is another $20.

Hope the 350Zs make a good showing on June 25.

Wow, nice track. Can a stock 350z get over 150mph on that course? Always wanted a safe place to do it.

Expensive though :(

I don't know how fast you can go, as I have never run Calif. Speedway road course before. I am very excited about it. It uses one side of the NASCAR oval. Since it is a 2-mile oval, the straight must be about 2/3 of a mile. How fast can you get going in 2/3 of a mile?

I have had my 350Z up to 150 mph, just momentarily. Don't ask me where. I'm not sure how long it takes. But you are coming out of a sweeping turn when you hit the front straight, so it is not like you are trying to hit 150 from a dead stop.

I say you should go and try it. That's what I'm gonna do.
