I just bought a 2005 Z Enthusiast model and have been hearing conflicting reports as to breaking in the engine of my new car. Personally, I wanted to wait after 3,750 miles before I "opened" up the throttle of my car and started using it for all the horsepower it has. But, I am being told by some people at work that I should go ahead and open up the throttle right now to break in my car. What should I do?

At 1200 miles your engine should be broken in. No need to wait till 3750 miles. Where did you get that # from?

From the manual it said the first service should be performed at 3750 miles and I figured I wanted to wait until my first oil change before I let the beast loose.

Just 700 more miles. Like Steve said the magical # is 1200 miles not 3750. You can go balls to the walls after 1200
