Ever since I replaced my stereo (hu, 4 speakers, sub and amp), the reception in my Z has suffered. FM is not that great, but AM simply sucks. I had the same stereo in my prior car, and it had great reception there. The reception with the stock stereo was decent.

Any ideas what could cause the decrease in reception quality? I have the amp in the cubby hole behind the driver seat, and the sub in a box under the strut bar in the cargo area. I run the power wire from the battery to the amp through the passenger side door sill, and the amp turn-on power line and speaker wires through the center console. I am not getting power feedback in the speakers when I listen to my Ipod.

Thanks for your ideas.

Did you connect the single lead wire that is tied to the coaxial antenna wire. It should be connected to the power antenna lead from your head unit. My reception was bad until I connected it.

How much power does you HU put out?

Like Mark stated, check your connections. The wire should be easy to spot.
