Hi

just collected a 350z Roadster in the UK. Doesnt have an option for a phone due to the lack of roof. So i want to install a bluetooth kit from Parrot but that needs the Parrot kit wiring into the audio unit including plugging in a muting lead so the audio cuts out when the phone is operating

But apparantly the Bose unit has a non-standard connector and the fitter says he needs a cable and the cable guys say they dont know the specs :banghead:

The UK spec for the 350z Roadster includes the following audio unit

"240W BOSE radio/cassette with 6-CD in-dash changer and 7 speakers"

So i am trying to find a diagram or photo of the back of this unit to send to the cable guys to see if they can get me something that will work - specifically they need to know where the muting lead needs to go.

Anyone got any picutres or diagrams of the back of this unit? or any other ideas?

The bose uses the standard Nissan harness. I dont understand what they mean by non-standard connector. The plug is the same for Bose and Non-Bose Z's

i may not be expressing the problem very well - because the Roadster does not have a Nissan phone fit option i have to try to connect a 3rd party kit. Most of these kits in the UK come with ISO connectors and the Bose unit doesnt apparantly use those.

So the people who do the fitting for the third party kits want to know what the back of the Bose unit looks like to work out what specialist leads they need to buy/make to achieve the connection. Nissan arent offering any info or any standard leads or much help

is that any clearer or is this still not making sense?

Just finished hooking up the parrot 3500 bluetooth and GPS to the Bose Head Unit.
I connected the output leads to the Nav voice leads in the back of the unit. To mute the radio, a 5 volt signal is sent to the bose mute line. The parrot 3500 uses ground to mute, so to make it work you have to use a relay switch to send 5 volts when the parrot mute line switches to ground.

I'll try to get diagrams as soon as I can.

Harness from bose audio system – looking at harness directly on female end
(Lower right hand corner if facing radio- no other harness that have this configuration)

Pin 32 Nav (voice) input (+) lead
Pin 30 Nav (voice) input (-) lead
Pin 24 Radio Mute (needs 5 volt signal to mute)

Connect the parrot (yellow) mute line to a 12volt relay that can send a 5 volt signal to pin 24. email me if you need help on wiring the relay (its pretty simple)

Help !!
I was pulling apart everything to add the PAC AAI-NIS aux input device for my iPod, when I got to this step, I was pulling this harness to release it (after loosing all the tabs - instead of just the release tab!!) and ALL the wires came loose from the harness shroud holder thingy. It will snap back together, but now I don't know which wires go in each little socket .

Can someone please help ? It's the BOSE system, no nav.
Here are the wires:

Black (with white stripe)
Green
Red
White
Yellow (thick)
Orange (with yelllow stripe ?)
Light green
