All i can say is who do i make the cheque payable to!!!!!!

Congrats Peter - this was a glowing review of your TT system and its totally changed my mind from 'that would be quite nice to have' to 'daaaamn i must have one, when will i have the spare cash, what banks can i rob and super funds can i cash !!! ' hahaha...

One question though, in the article it says that the system comes with an engineers certificate and that it complies with ADR's etc... does this mean that the majority of Insurance Companies will cover this mod???

In the past i have been told by SGIO and RAC that they will pretty much cover anything as long as it is street legal... i just wonder if they will cover this mod, and if they do, how much extra cheese they want for the premium !!!!!!

Most insurance companies will cover any car, but it some will charge you an arm and a leg for it. Some insuarance companies (I think it was suncorp) wanted me to pay $15000 per year on a bog stock 350z.

Well, I don't have any speeding tickets and my record is clean, it was $15,000 per year, no typo. Currently I'm paying $3000 per year and I'm happy. That's like $250 per month for you. It also depends a lot on where you live.

I pay ~$4400 pa to NRMA, 23yrs of age, garaged all the time at home or work, good Sydney suburb, car in fathers name for insurance purposes, no money owing on the car. I have had one claim in the last 3yrs with another insurance company.

Last year I was paying $3500 then they just bumped it up by $1000 for no reason, so Im getting them to insure my wheels as well, once I can get sizes they agree on.

congrats about not owing cashola on the car - my loan repayments on top of my insurance costs evens it out compared to you hahaha

yeh i remember you saying about your wheels a long time back on my350z i think...

u got volks that were 9.5 rears and insurance had a problem with them or something??? any luck there?

Well I am still paying off a loan but technically its not connected to the car. The car was paid for up front, then I got a loan through someone who works at a bank that only deals with organisations so it has a much lower interest rate and has nothing to do with the car.

I have tried most of the main ones, I havnt heard of HBF for car insurance so i'll try them next. Any idea how they are with modifications?

Regarding the TT Article, can someone please scan it in?

i'd say they will let you insure your wheels as extras on the policy, as long as you tell them you have them then if they get stolen they will be covered...

But I also guess it depends on if they are illegal in your state depending on the width/...

[edit] yeh il scan it tonight

Insurance on 200SX's is a killer. When I called the NRMA, they didn't want to touch it.

I eventually found a quote for an under 25 male with 1-2 accidents for around $2300 a year, which is damned cheap. It was from Famous & Classic, who are based in Perth.

Unfortunately, since about 3-4 S15s I'm aware of that are insured through Famous got put into the wall (and at least 1 was written off), as well as a raft of S13's, I don't think they're insuring Silvias of any stripe anymore.

Famous wouldn't insure the Z33. I guess its not classic enough to them yet. Amazingly, the NRMA ended up being the cheapest.

Yeah, NRMA was the cheapest for me as well, but as of next year I'm going with shannon's, the same premium, but they are much more flexible when it comes to mods.
