Forget about trying to find the plug. I've been looking for ages and no one will sell you just that part. You will need to buy the engine wiring loom which is fucking expensive.

There's a guy from 350Z Motoring that has worked out the wiring from halogen loom to xenon headlights, i'll try and find it.

^ it's pretty easy to swap the pins in the non-hid lights to fit the HID lights. I just swapped out my 03 non hid's with the 06 bi-xenon lights and just changed the pins on the plug.

You dont happen to have a 'how-to' for this do you? :helpsmilie:
Also where did you get your 06 bi-xenons from? Any 'after' pictures with this setup would be awesome.

2500 AUD later:

I can post the wire colors and the layout of the pins when I get home. The pins are easy to remove. When you do it this way you don't have to cut wires at all, it's all plug and play.

Thanks for the photos. Looks AMAZING!!!

$2500 later though? ouch. I thought this was just swaping out the bulbs and replacing them. Obviously I have underestimated this little project.

Does this mean I am required to purchase whole new light assemblies? There is no way to just swap out the bulbs?

$2500 is actually a great price. You should call Nissan and find out how much they sell them for.. lol

I can get this set for $1000 if you're interested. They are genuine Jap 04 xenon lights.

Hi SilverZed,

Did you have to break the plug to get the wiring/pins out? I am trying to do this right now on my 06 headlights and have tried pulling the wires away from the plug but with no luck. maybe i'm a bit weak.... lol

Hey,

No, you don't have to break the plug. If you look in side the plug you will see a orange clip in the middle. You have to take that out using a pair of pliers or similar tool. Then you will see each pin is held in by a plastic clip just move the cilp away from the pin using a small screw driver or similar and the pin will come out...

Let me know if you need anymore info...

I actually got a good deal on the lights from a contact... Nissan quoted me $1500 per light  .

My concern with this is that the stock non HID loom is not rated for the current draw for the new HID?

Thanks for the offer mxfly. I'll consider it and let you know.

Just need to clarify a question that wasn't answered - can a non-HID lamp become HID by relacing the bulb with a xenon one?

Just remember, xenon and hid are different things.

You can install hid kits into any headlights. Apart from removing your old halogen bulbs, you need to install the hid bulbs, the wiring loom and the ballast.

I'll be doing some more research into HID and Xenon over the weekend then! Thanks for the responses everyone.

I really like the look of the '06 lights and I saw in another thread a conversion that looked like what I was after. I'll try to find the pics again and post in here. However if a conversion kit could give the same result I'd be interested in that.

(PM replied Mansite).

PS: SilverZed - in the second pic down you posted - is that led foggies??
