I'm looking into upgrading the head unit of my Z. I'm trying to keeping the stock look of the interior so I need something that compliments and matches the Z's amber interior lights, gauges, etc. I tried different websites, but didn't really find much. Suggestions would be appreciated. Budget's under $1000. Thanks.

Aloha,
Try Crutchfield. Especially if you plan on installing yourself. They'll send you all the hardware you need to install the unit with it, including adapter harnesses. I've been buying from them since the 80's. Never had a problem even once!

You can change the colors...you can get it almost exactly like the stock amber color.

BTW, you need an FM converter...pretty cheap.

that is a cool head unit - who has one in their Z, looks nice.

I have had great experiences for 20+ years with Alpine, put a 9835 in mine with the xm modules/iPod module - works great and snapped right into the car with the one adapter.

I am thinking of selling my 9835 (6 months old) and getting the new 985x series, but we will see.

Never had a problem with two Sony units i've had experience.

Crutchfield definitely prices high...then again they do have great customer service.
