Just bought a 06 350z conv and wanted to ask a few stereo upgrade questions.

Looking at the alpine IVA-D310 HU with JL audio 6.5 XR650-CSI'S in the front.
Maybe a 10' JL sub because of the depth problem behind the driver seat and a JL 300/4 pushing the front's and sub. Planning on leaving the rear speakers alone and feeding them off the HU as "fill"

Any comments on size, performance etc?

Thanks everyone!

You'll need more amp for the sub if it's a JL. Even their low-end 10s need a 300w amp to be happy. In my last car (a convertible Vette) I was running a 10w6v2 and 2 6.5 XRCSIs off of a 500/5 and it sounded fantastic. Very simple setup, easy to install and easy to tune.

I dunno much about the Z's acoustics. But the general rule, and especially for convertibles, is to just forget the rear speakers. You'd do more damage to the sound field having your front channel on the amp and the rear channel off the headunit. Just my 0.02.

The 6.5s CSIs in the front will blow your mind. That's all you will need.
