I took the Z to the dealer for a rattle today and the guy said that there's a 12,500 mile warranty on rattles. After that, I'm SOL if I have a rattle. That seems like BS to me. Anyone else hear of this? I'll bring the Z to a different place if he's lying to me.

There's no such thing as a warranty on rattles. Rattles are a natural occurrance for most if not all cars, especially when there's so much plastic.
Now if you have a loose part that shouldn't be loose, that is a different story. If you can isolate the noise or identify a part that is loose or coming off, then you have an issue that can be corrected by Nissan.

I've never heard that. Remind him it's a 2/24 bumper-to-bumper. The lazy bastards hate to find ratttles because they are a pain in the ass.
That's what I thought, bumper to bumper. I have 10K on the car so it wasn't an issue but still. I wonder if he gave me that line because I didn't buy the car there. who cares , i'll just take my business elsewhere. Thanks for the replies!

Most car manufacturers only cover "cosmetic" problems like squeaks, rattles or paint for a limited amount of time. Remember that the warranty covers something that's broken, not things that wear out (brakes) or need re-adjustment (alignment). Bumper-to-bumper doesn't mean absolutely everything on the car.
If you'll check the warranty book that came with the car, on page 5 there is a paragraph on "Adjustments". That's what the rattle falls under.

anyway, I have had 4 Nissans and I beleive that fittament/rattles are covered 12 months, the 3-36 is for mechanical. At least this is what I have always been told by my dealer who has treated me well.
