I recently installed a Vortech SC and Alpha Werks headers on my car. I have had ZERO custom tuning done to it. So it is just running the stock program from Vortech. I am also just running 18" street tires. I have run on 2 different occasions. Both with decent outside temperature. But the best I have ever done is a [email protected] with a 2.117 60ft time. I thought maybe it was me, so I let my friend drive. His best was a [email protected] with a 2.125 60ft time. He is 100lbs lighter than me. Now what I have been reading here is that guys are running [email protected] So my question is, what is your secret? And if you have no secret, is there something wrong with my car?(SC or program or tuning.)

What else have you done to your Z? What kind of wheels? Maybe the street tires are not hooking up for you that well. :dunno:

Daking with his TT kit was getting better times than that, but he's done a lot of internal upgrades and mods to the Z. Maybe you should take your Z to a tuner or think of a couple of other things to upgrade. Does your SC kit come with any other upgrades?

thats really bad times. you should go to a dyno at least and see what kind of hp the car is putting down.. i have seen 3 vortech supercharged z's and the hp range was 375 to 388. so if your way under then you should have it tuned i would think.

Yeah, thats what I thought too. But I wanted to ask around before spending a ton of money on tuning.

No, I am not sure. Everything is connected correctly. I get 7-8 psi on my boost gage. I need to go back to the dyno and see exactly what I have at the wheels. Then I will call Vortech again. It is very upsetting because I know Vortech makes a good product. I think I just may have got a bad one this time. I have the name of a tuner in chicago. After everything checks out and Vortech says they can't do anything about it, I will go see him.
