New (to me) Ride part 2

Hey there everyone, just checking in!!! I have been absent because I'm in medical school now and time is very scarce. I just wanted to reassure everyone that I haven't been smeared across the highway on my bike yet. In fact, even better, I've gone and done exactly what I said I wasn't going to do. I've been getting into the whole riding thing, and I actually just picked up a new (to me) track-only bike. The specs are such:

PSR shorty levers
rear reservoir removal mod
Good ridge speed bleeders (all calipers and front master cylinder)
Custom lightened rear rotor

Accessories/Mods
Vortex adjustable rearsets
Vortex Race fuel cap
Vortex rearstand spools
Vortex clip-ons
Vortex Frame sliders
Renthal Multi compound race grips
Speedo sensor removal mod

Safety wired to AMA specs

Woodcraft Case covers
PCIII with custom maps (warm and cold weather)
DynoJet quick shifter (GP shift)
Vortex -1 520 front sprocket
Driven +4 520 rear sprocket (current also change between stock and +2)
Marvick 16.5 forged magnesium race wheels
Dunlop 16.5 race slicks
EK 520 SRXO chain
Barnett kevlar clutch friction plates and springs

Suspension
Custom valving by Chad Wolfe
9.5 Ohlins front springs
Ohlins Tripple clicker rear shock

Body
Hotbodies Race fairings

Extra set of stock wheels (rotors included) DOT race tires

Complete set Michelin 16.5 Race Rains never used
Complete set Dunlop 16.5 race tires
1 Set Daytona Compound 16.5 Plenty of life left
1 Set Daytona Compound 17" Plenty of life left

...I'll have some good videos and pictures coming soon... ; )

Hope everything is well around here, and hope you like the new ride!

Glad to read that you're still alive.

Thanks for sharing. That's a sweet looking bike.

Glad you like her, Dave. I miss you guys : )

...the bikes are fun, though, because they're so freaking cheap and so freaking fast. A set of top notch track tires will cost $300 installed and last 4 track days. ...and that's the MOST expensive thing. That whole bike only cost me $2500 and it is set up to the MAX. ...like, top notch suspension tuned for my weigh, engine custom mapped, brand new slicks, extra wheels with extra tires... I mean, granted it was a steal of a deal... still... just awesomely cheap.

...my safety gear probably cost me more than the bike.

lol, NOT the Ducati for this. I'm LOVING riding at the track now. This bike is for wrecking (albeit hopefully not THAT bad...) ...You can't really ride fast until you're not afraid of crashing.

...PS, I need a paint scheme.... My track gear is all white and black with a little red mixed in... I'm thinking ALL WHITE, and doing some red little accents or something...

I determine the speed I want to travel based on how hard I am willing to hit something solid…

If I knew I had plenty of room to skid, roll, bounce to a stop - I wouldnt mind putting down a bike a few times - I would also like to jump off a moving bike incase I encounter something like that...

I will probably never have a bike unless it's the end of the world and cars become too expensive to maintain.

Our 'home' track doesn't have any walls... there's lots of room for sliding around

Nice! My Dad and brother both raced flat track for years Dad ended up with a spiral fracture of his femur which ended his racing days, he was over 55 years old when that happened and my Mom said 'enough' lol....did it at Pocono. Enjoy and have fun
