First Cadillac CTS-V performance test published

The CTS-V ran the quarter-mile in a scant 12.5 seconds, besting the 12.7 it takes for either the BMW M5 or the Mercedes E63 AMG. Getting back to a standstill was another hit to the Bimmer and the Benz, with the Caddy stopping from 60-0 mph in 109 feet Ė five feet less than it takes the M5 and six shorter than the AMG. And if you're thinking that brakes and power are easy to upgrade and that the Cadillac couldn't possibly best the Germans on the handling course, think again: the CTS-V ran the slalom at 71.1 mph, while the M5 and E63 ran it in 68.5 and 65 mph respectively.

Wow! This topic is quite a surprise for me. I never thought that there was a performance test between the Cadillac CTS, BMW M5 and Mercedes E63, and I would never guess the Cadillac would outwit the BMW and Mercedes. This proves that Cadillac is not just luxury car with high-tech cadillac accessories but it also has power and speed than can compete with other cars.

The CTS-V is a badass car. 556 supercharged horsepower, 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. 70K price tag.

A guy in my apartment complex had a coupe MONTHS ago. I don't know how he got it so early. It's badass for sure. I can hear it idling from anywhere in my apartment. It's quiet at idle but VERY deep! It always makes me go to the window!

Did a few runs in one of these at our track. Even drove it back to back with a newer M5 (with the PITA auto-manual) and... CTS-V > M5

The V isn't just crazy powerful.

That 2-ton beast can dance!

The suspension is just magic. I was totally amazed with that car.

I love the V, not so much the coupe though.
