The SSV comes with some basic install instructions, but there are no pictures and the order was not very logical. I found myself just tossing them asside and figuring things out on my own. Originally, I planned on a really detailed install writeup, but in all honesty this is not that big of a deal. You should be able to do this on your own.

Contents

Stock Plenum Removal

  1. Remove strut bar (4 bolts on each end)
  2. Remove engine cover (4 bolts)
  3. Start off by removing all the 10mm bolts from the upper plenum. They go all the way around the perimeter and there are 6 in the middle.
  4. Loosen the two clamps holding the intake tube on, and remove the tube.
  5. Disconnect the wire harness from the throttle body.
  6. Using pliers, pull back the clamps holding on all of the hoses to the plenum. I pulled the coolant hose off from the bottom first as it was difficult to reach it on the plenum side. Engine coolant sprayed out, but not too much. Just be careful if the engine is hot, you may get burned.
  7. Once all of the hoses and bolts are removed, you can pull the upper plenum off. If it is difficult to move, then you have missed a bolt or hose connection. Set it aside.
  8. Now remove all the inside bolts holding the lower plenum down. There should only be 6 in the middle, along with 2 nuts (1 on front, 1 on back).
  9. Pull up the lower plenum. Again, if it does not come up easy, double check all the connections.
  10. Remove gasket.
  11. There are 2 to 3 brackets on the front of the engine that attach to the stock plenum. However these get in the way of the SSV and need to be removed.
  12. Clean things if they need it. Do not drop anything into the intake ducts.

SSV Install

  1. Remove the throttlebody from the stock plenum and mount it to the SSV. Ensure you have the direction correct. The electrical connector should be on the rear-bottom side.
  2. Install the spacer block onto the fuel bracket on the passenger side. Install 1 of the Hex screws to secure it using the rear hole.
  3. Connect the two coolant hoses together using the suppliec tubing splice.
  4. Connect remaining hoses (3 of them) to the SSV in their respective locations. 2 on the left and 1 in the rear side.
  5. Insert 3 of the supplied Hex screws and washer into the passenger side holes of the SSV.
  6. Place SSV into place and feed the 3 Hex screws into place using the supplied wrench.
  7. Install 3 more Hex screws into the driver side holes.
  8. Replace front and rear bolts on the SSV holding it to the engine.
  9. Connect intake tube to the airbox and manifold. Tighten the clamps.

Complete

Below are some pictures of the fully installed Kinetix SSV Manifold. The install took around 1 hour and could be done in less time if I wasn't taking pictures. I do not have my strut bar installed, but it does fit without any clearance issues. I didn't notice much of a sound difference compared to the stock plenum. EDIT(BY SILVER350Z05) I installed mine on April-2007, with a nismo intake there is a way different sound and power gains are felt
