Great page

I noted a couple things that may be needed. The instructions say to reassemble in reverse order. It is important that the control arm bolts, or any bolt through a bushing are not torqued untill the vehicle is lowered onto the tires. The control arms movement is limited to the compliance of the rubber. The inner bushing becomes locked when torqued. It is important to lock it in the middle of its range of motion (ie: lowered onto tires). It was noted that the sway bar bushing bolts can be difficult. If the sway bar bolt are disconnected on both sides on the ground the bar will not be fighting the process. The steps related to final torque can cause several problems if not done right. If done in the air it will create pre load. The pre load will help suspend the vehicle causing to tilt away from that side. After a couple good pot holes it will become level as it has fractured the rubber in the bushing. The uneven ride hight will cause the vehicle to pull and wear out the tires. I have in the past reassembeled in the air loose, lowered the vehicle, reach under and tighten. Take immediatly to an alignment shop and ask them to loosen and retorque on the lift prior to aligning. This has worked for me with my Maxima. Add or edit as needed

Thanks

Thanks for the comments. I will try to incorporate them. toykilla 14:47, 18 May 2006 (CDT)
