JWT Popcharger Installation
From Nissan 350Z & 370Z Wiki
Remove the stock air box and the MAF sensor as an assembly. Using a 10MM socket wrench, remove the single mounting bolt and loosen the hose clamp around the MAF sensor. On the air inlet snorkel, remove the plastic retainer rivet and pull the snorkel away from the air box. Pull up on the air box in the front until it comes free and remove it (there are no bolts holding it on the bottom).
Install the heat shield as shown below. Make sure that the heat shield does not interfere with any wires or plumbing, adjust it as needed. Optional rubber heat shield edge trim should be installed if supplied (see at the bottom)
Transfer the MAF sensor to the POP-Charger’s aluminum funnel along with the supplied support bracket, as shown below. Install the POP-Charger / MAF sensor assembly by bolting the bracket to the body and tightening hose clamp. Adjust the bracket until the assembly is not touching any other parts and tighten it. Reconnect the MAF plug.
The plastic rivet is removed by popping the center out first, then pulling it straight out. You'll then need to drill or punch 2 holes in the plastic snorkel aligned with the screw holes in the heat shield. Using a soldering iron to create the holes works pretty well.
Install the supplied screws as shown using a stubby Phillips screw driver. Attach the lower heat shield clamp over the frame rail edge and adjust it so the snorkel attaching screw holes are aligned as shown below.
Install the rubber edge trim as shown by starting at one end and rolling the trim onto the edge. Use protective gloves. Note the slit on the longer trim piece aligns with the inside radius of the aluminum shield as shown below. Slit in rubber trim on the backside near the corner.
