Headlight Adjustment

From Nissan 350Z & 370Z Wiki

This tutorial will walk you though adjusting your headlight beam. Some of the Z's came out of the factory with the headlights pointed a bit high, and road visibility is sometimes an issue. We can fix this problem rather easily.

Get the car on a flat surface 8' from the wall, I use a parking structure wall at my office. Open the hood and grab a long Phillips screw driver. I believe it's a 12" with a #2 tip. Here is mine. It fits right here, there is no need to push hard or force it, just slip it in gently till it stops.

You might need a flashlight to see the gear wheel (see arrow). The screwdriver fits in the hole like the X in the picture. It takes several revolutions to see any type a change, if memory serves it's clockwise for up and counter clockwise for down. In this 3rd pic I had it set at 26" from the ground but have since moved it up to 27.5", that seems to be the "just high enough" not to bug people. Notice the hot-spot at 26" that is what you are measuring to.

Nobody has flashed me yet in the 3 months since I did it and it seems to cut off right at the top of the average trunk. I love the backroads now!
