Introduction
The photo on the left (Fig 1.1) is from the instructions that came with the markers. Since my Japanese amounts to knowing the differnce between a beer and raw fish .. the translation in the right photo (Fig 2.2) is based upon 'guesstamation' and fun. Note that they show the 10ea - 10mm screws along the bottom of the bumper and three each inside the fender well. I actually found four there. Ok ... I REMOVED four. Evidently I only needed to remove three .. at least according to the instructions. I'm not going back in to find out. These screws ARE under the fender liner which needs removing. I strongly suggest you pick up some spare clips (Fig 1.3). There are six of these under the hood and I guarantee you will break at least two taking them out. |

Procedure
I was talking with Ninja350Z(Lee) and he said that ""i just stuck my hand in there ..."" - when I told him I hand partially removed my bumper to put the markers in. I tried that - and just COULD NOT get the screwdriver (angled or not) to work ... |
I removed both inner fender liners. The photo (Fig 3.1) is of the right inner fender, showing two of the three clips that hold it in place. There is also a cross-point screw on the wheel edge. Phto (Fig 3.2) shows the Driver's side inner fender removed. You can easily get to the marker on this side. (Fig 3.3) Closer look at the former photo and (Fig 3.4) Removing the marker. Very easy on this side and no reason to remove the bumper .. at this point. |
(Fig 3.5) Shows the Orange Marker .. then .. (Fig 3.6) Shows it being removed. Notice that there are simply two holes in the fender .. and two prongs on the forward portion of the marker. After removing the two screws, the marker is simply tilted out and removed. (Fig 3.7) Showing the Orange Marker after removal and finally (Fig 3.8) The Clear marker about to be installed. The procedure is just the reverse of the removal. Tilt the marker slighty, engage the two prongs with the two holes, allow the marker to fall back against the fender and sequre with the two screws. Simple. |
To replace the passenger side marker I had to losen the right side of the bumper (Fig 3.9). I COULD NOT get a screwdriver in to remove the two screws from the inner wheel. The plastic bottle was in the way (If you look closly at Fig 3.9 you can see the white bottle). In retrospect, it isn't even worth the time to try and do otherwise .. was too simple to remove the bumper. (Fig 3.10) Shows looking back toward the marker with the bumper pulled forward. (Fig 3.11) is looking straight down ... you can see that NOW ... you have all the room in the world to get to the marker, which I am doing next (Fig 3.12) |
Finished

Finished. Now .. THIS .. is what the car should have come with. The Clear Markers ... IMO .. look GREAT with a CS 350Z. |
