The Procedure

Follow this procedure to remove and replace your auto shift lever.

Step 1

Removing the shift knob. This is easy part. At the bottom of the knob itself youll see a silver trim peace. Grab it and pull down, it should slide down minimal force. Next is the retaining clip, use a needle nose pliers and pull from the front. Next slide up the knob and the trim peace.

Step 2

This part i measured the depth of the inside of the MOMO AT shift knob and transfered that to the shift link, that way you can easly possition the rubber/plastic adaptor that comes with the MOMO. To get the short shifter look, in Step 2 slide the blue extender up and off. There will be a short square metal shaft. Then proceed but with out the Blue extender.

Step 3

At these step you can ether go with the Shift knob as is, as pictures, or you can install a MT shift boot with the Knob. I went with the shift boot to give it a manual look and feel.

Next is to cut the boot to a lenght that will fit the AT. As pictures i went to 6.5-6.75" in length for the cut. Next slide the boot and screw collet over the shift link. Next install the set screws per the manufacture instructions. Then slide the new know down the shift link untell it stops were the black adaptor is set at. If you push the knob down to far you will end up pushing down the blue shift link. That is why i measured and transfered from Knob to shaft in Step2.

Use the allen wrench that came with the shift knob and tighten the set screws down. Next take the shift boot and screw the collet to the bottom of the shift knob.

Step 4

This part is them tricky one, and may take alittle time and patents. Slip the bottom of the shift boot over the round shift indicator plate, dont slide it down to far or the silver trim ring wouldnt fit. Slide maybe a 1/8"-1/4" down just enough for the trim ring to hold it. Like i said take your time with this step.
