350Z and G35 Part Compatibility

From Nissan 350Z & 370Z Wiki

This page is a comparison of the Nissan 350Z and Infiniti G35. Primarily this is a resource page for G35 owners wanting to know which aftermarket 350Z parts will fit their vehicle. It is also a useful guide when considering OEM part compatibility.

Contents

Engine and Drivetrain

Is the engine the same?

Is the 6spd manual transmission the same?

Is the 5spd automatic transmission the same?

Is the final drive gearing the same?

Intake and Exhaust

Is the intake the same?

Yes and no. The G35 intake has a resonator to quiet the engine to give the car a more "luxury" feel. Many G35 owners purchase the 350Z intake tube which does not have a resonator. This is often termed the "Z-Tube". This simple change has shown some power gains on the dyno as well as giving the engine a bit more grunt.

Are exhaust systems compatible?

The exhaust system layouts of the 350Z and G35 are very similar. However, since the G35 is a few inches longer than the Z, the exhausts are not directly interchangeable. Aftermarket exhaust systems designed for the 350Z will need to be lengthened approximately 6 inches to fit on the G35. Most exhaust system shops can do this for a small fee, while some of the exhausts actually come with a lengthening pipe ready to bolt in.

Brakes and Suspension

Springs and Shocks

The springs and shocks between the 350Z and the G35 are not the same, although they are interchangeable. Using 350Z springs on a G35 coupe will lower the ride approximately 1 inch.

Interior and Exterior

The Body

There is virtually no interchangeable exterior parts between the two cars. Some 350Z owners have successfully fitted the G35 rear spoiler, however some modification may be required.

Seats

Wheels and Tires

Wheels and tires are of similar size and offsets and all variants should fit either the 350Z or G35.
