Hey Folks,

I got this nightmare problem with one of my cars that will soon go on Sale. When it gets warm (5-10Mins) it starts to idle, and from standing still, when I press gas very slightly, it get's quite for half a second and then suddenly starts up and drives like normal (800RMP to 1000RPM). But when I hit the gas a little harder, it drives normal. This car was in pretty big accident, but I got it fixed.

Here is the list of items I changed:

- Trottle body
- Iddle speed sensor
- Maf sensors
- Fuel injectors with vacuums
- Fuel Pump
- Coil Packs with Spark Plugs
- Variable Timing Control
- Electric Gas Pedal
- ECM Reset Engine Specs (At Nissan Dealer)

... Guys at dealership they don't know what to do, but they told me to leave the car there and they will troubleshoot it for 100$ an hour... (70$ for me) since I get discount there.

Please help!!!

P.S: If I buy new ECM Computer, do you think it would help?

So as you can probably see im new to this forum. I found this site cause my clutch went out on my 03 350Z and ive been trying to figure out the exact parts i need. I've talked to the Nissan dealership and one said that all i need is the disc, pressure plate and bearings which comes out to about $400... while the other says i need that and a new flywheel which is higher in price ($1700)... My Question is if i put in a new clutch kit do i have to buy a new flywheel as well, or would i be fine with just the clutch kit replacement???

Hi guys,
I just changed the spark plugs in my 65k 2003Z touring model. Then the Service Engine lights is on now. Did I do something wrong ? or how do I turn it off ? ?

Edit: to clarify why I think its on, its because I did take the intake off. Unplugged the sensor but forgot to plug it back in when I started the car for the first time to see if it starts. But then I plugged the sensor on the intake on, and start the car one more time. Thats when I noticed the engine lights.
So I dont think anything's wrong with the plugs.... its just the air sensor right ? :)

I can bump it with my foot from underneath and it comes the rest of the way fine. Anyone had an issue with this? Could it be the through out bearing? Could it be the cluch cable or linkage? or something in underneath the dash in the linkage there? Digging deep here for an answer.

i have a 03 350z. This morning when i was going to work i noticed that the tach was jumping down to rpms below what the real engine speed was the car seemed to drive fine. Then on the way home the tach would not stop bouncing to to 0 rmps and back to were it should be and in between. but still the car seemed to drive fine and actual engine speed seemed to stay the same. Then this after noon i go in the car and the brake light, abs , slip, Traction control light is on i didn't turn it off ether and the speedo will not read the speed neither will the digital. i have no idea why this happened.

Its been raining here for the last 3 days i don't know if this has anything to do with it.

Thank you

I have a "whomp whomp" noise coming from my drivers side while driving, the noise doesnt get louder as i drive but increases in repartition (noise gets closer n closer together so to speak) I have had this noise for 3 month i recently just got drillled n slotted rotors and wagner thermo quiet pads all the way around. Noise is still there but now when i brake hard or have the wheel turned all the way left and brake i get a grinding noise like you would if your pads where low. A few friends seemed to think I have a bad wheel bearing, but now the grinding noise is throwing me off. Could the bearing be so bad its causeing this grinding while stopping?

So I was driving and hoofed it the other day and noticed that while accelerating my handbrake light comes on! Then it disappears followed by the vdc and slip light coming on and staying. It disappeared when I turned off the engine and restarted the car.

I am not sure whether it turned off the vdc and went into some kind of preset mode, but turning off traction control all of a sudden doesn't make much logic to me. No check engine light at all... I noticed also that under heavy braking the park brake light may come on buy goes off. My rotors are about to be replaced but I'm unsure whether it's related to the issue. Just about to bring it to the workshop now.

A few weeks ago I noticed that my engine was running hot and the radiator fan sounded like a Cessna engine. Took it to the dealership who could hear the fan as I was pulling in, and waited to hear back. I'm at 91,000 miles on my Z roadster and the extended warranty expires at 100,000.

The next day I receive a call from my service advisor notifying me that the radiator failed and because of this the engine overheated and now BOTH radiator and engine will need to be replaced. I forwarded all of the mainenance records to the dealership and two weeks later my car was returned to me, once again running like a fine watch and purring like a tiger.

What would the bill have been without the warranty $10,753.00...Yep that's ten thousand, seven hundred fifity-three dollars. Without that warranty me, the Z and what little is in my back account would have been big time toast.

So three lessons:

1). I will ALWAYS buy an extended warranty. I paid $2100 for this one. I had already used it for two repairs equalling $1500. This thing paid for itself five times over.
2). Will probably have to dump the Z. I've replaced the transmission once, the clutch twice, had to modify the front suspension to get rid of the tire feathering issue and now the radiatior and engine. This doesn't bode well for the Z's mechanical future. Sad cause I love it otherwise.
3). Pretty scary that a radiator failure could happen, without notice or dash light warning, that ends up in the destruction of the engine. Nissan you should do better than this.

Don't know what the next car will be. Nothing really out there in the Z's price range that looks as good. Won't buy the 370...I have a feeling it'll be the same thing all over again from what I've read so far.

But in the end...dodging a $10,753 bullet still bought a BIG smile to my face!
