Smile hello everyone ,newbie here Help needed

Hi everyone,

I own a Nissan 350z Nismo 2007 16. I have the car for 3 years now and I've never done anything to it other than oil change, fluid and tires. I also pay for that, I don't do it myself. I don't really know much about cars but I would love to learn, that's why I'm here. I recently bought cold air intake for my Nissan and that's going to be my first mod to the car since I bought it. Also, I would like to know what do I need to change in the exhaust system to make my car sound a little bit louder and more aggressive. Do I just need to get rid of the catalyst ? I heard the Nismo headers are pretty good. I would like to keep the mufflers in the back that have engraved Nismo on them. I need some help and I think this is the right place to start. Please forgive me for my grammar, English is not my first languag

Welcome- if you really have factory NISMO Z33, a CAI won't help performance. Headers and other bolt-ons won't help unless you invest in a tune. If noise is what you're after, swap out your dual exhaust for a single and it'll be louder and lighter. Where are you located?

Your Z is a sophisticated vehicle with computer control over engine performance. Without re-tuning the engine parameters using a system like UpRev's Osiris, the engine management will always be seeking to return the increased fuel or airflow to pre-programmed levels. If your NISMO 350Z is a genuine model (with V3 bodykit, welded body, numbered plate, etc), you are risking de-valuing it by modding it further. In addition, if your state or area requires emissions testing, a test pipe will not allow if to pass. Even if it doesn't any sale to a future buyer many be complicated b/c their state may require such testing.

My advise is to enjoy the NISMO Z as it is. Nissan designed it to be a well-balanced and reliable vehicle, but any changes you make will likely degrade it and activate check engine lights (CELs). Why not spend some money to make yourself a better driver? There are driving schools available that will help you to better exploit the performance of your Z.
