Hi Gang
I know this question is a bit subjective but would anyone be prepared to recommended a double DIN unit that has sat nav, 6 CD stacker and radio to replace the std head unit? I'm looking for something that is simple to install and fits well, looking as ex-factory as possible. I'm also keen to preserve the std orange light for controls to be the same as the rest of the dash as well. Any suggestions on installers in Adelaide would be welcome as well. Cheers

For an all-in-one system I've always been a fan of Pioneer's AVIC range. They don't have a 6 stacker in the head unit, but since it will read MP3s off a DVD (not something every head unit does, even if it does read DVDs) you can still cram a lot of music into it.
Any aftermarket head unit will need something like the PAC R-OEM to interface with the factory Bose amps. All double DIN head units need a fascia kit to ring around the head unit, since the Z's stereo is slightly bigger than double DIN. It won't really look factory, but as a full touchscreen system it won't look glaringly bad either.

That said, I've never found an integrated satnav that I've ever liked using. I find the interface less intuitive than that of a standalone satnav, but it has been a few years since I've tried one.
The cubby hole above the head unit is the right size for me to jam my TomTom into so it wedges in without falling out, even in vigorous driving, and it means I can have the satnav map up while still displaying music information on the head unit's screen.

I am a big fan of the kenwood set up I have, which is a DDX6019. Unlike the Pioneers, I can ground out the safety and then be able to watch DVDs, or use the GPS while the car is moving. The pioneers require you to go inside the case.
I have the Garmin GPS unit with mine, and I like it a lot, I find it better than my newer stand alone Garmin Nuvi 1300. You can not get my model anymore, so you would have to get a new model. Remember to save the factory mounting brackets, you will need them.

I hadn't considered that. My head unit is ancient, so it just wired itself to the handbrake. Handbrake up = screen on, but looping that wire meant the system thought the handbrake was always up.
