Hi Guys,

Long time since I last posted.

I took my car to Final Inspection for a Detail. This is where Aust350z took his Sunset Z.

He got a Stage 2. I have a black car, so got the stage 3. it was $850 including interior.

Stage 3 included 3 cuts and Seal. I also got a full interior including Leather and plastic trim (the guy wasn't going to do the plastic, but our plastics tend to look crap after a while, so he put a UV thing on it)

It was worth it. No before photos as the car was just dirty, so you won't see the benefit. But there is an after shot.

No swirl marks and a mirror effect.

This pic was taken 2.5 weeks after the Detail and after 2 washes at the Hand Car Wash (which doesn't allow buckets!?!?!, what is with that?).

There's a few swirl marks coming back after the washes, but it is still immaculate. I use the Final Inspection Shampoo.

The main issue is that all the stone chips, scratches and chips from opening the door show up as white marks, and so stand out quite a bit. I need to get a paint touch up in the future.

This is thier website: www.finalinspection.com.au

I actually had a Stage 3 done initally too as well.

Glad to hear you liked the results! The third stage just gives it that much more gloss and correction.

I think its a little strange that you are already seeing some swirl marks come back after only 2 washes and a couple of weeks. Can I ask what your washing the car with (ie: mitt wise)?

Oh and try imageshack...

+1 - Useless without pics.

The guys said the gloss meter measurement are about back to show room standard (and I'd have to agree).

The black deteriorates quite a bit and I've neglected it since coming to Melbourne.

I use a microfibre wash mit and Drying mit from Sam C, and the Final Inspection shampoo.
It's good. Just the car tends to dry before I can do a final wipe, which is where I think the swirls are coming from.

I need to take better care of my seats as well. They're not looking so great at the moment.

I'll get on image shack or flickr soon.

Thats a lot of money to detail...I recently tried that SwirlX and that did a fantastic job of getting all my swirls and minor scratches out, priced at $30.
