Had to replace the Throttle Body on my '03 today. Car went into Limp mode on Sunday and the codes came back with Throttle Position Sensor high voltage and some other code (sorry, I tossed the card I had written the codes on). Anyhow, the TPS sensors are the black box on the side of the TB, which of course is riveted on so no easy replacement. Good news is that Nissan now sells re-manufactured TB's, at $167 each vs. at least $600 brand new, and my favorite dealer had one in stock and gives our Z club 15% off so it was a quick fix. And, it cleared up a high idle problem I have had for the past 6 months, leading me to believe the sensors were failing or I had some other problem with the TB. Regardless, quick fix and pretty reasonable price - 20 minute DIY.

Just curious because it seems magical to me, but how did you get your codes? What exactly did you do?

We bought a scan tool at work several years back - Dan was getting a recurrent CEL and we decided it would make a good "business" purchase. Have used it many times, both for ourselves and employees/clients/friends, Best $100 we ever spent. I know you can get scanned free at a lot of places now days, but not when you can't drive there.

I replaced mine about 2 or 3 weeks ago. The car went into limp mode twice and I was getting the same codes. I got a $40 core exchange after I swapped it out.

Same here. So what did you end up paying? Mine was $151 out the door after our clubs 15% discount, which saved me $25.00. But then, I get a call from the dealer telling me they need the box back to ship the core! It was a VM so didn't talk to them, but if they want it, they can come and get it. Just another average dealer experience for me - never smooth.

Mine was around $150ish. I can't remember exactly off the top of my head, but I'm thinking it was around that, maybe $160ish.
